April Baby Showers

cropped-1513287_262316927259325_452633579_n.jpgSo it’ April 3rd, and yesterday was my birthday. I love this month, Easter, my birthday, Azalea Festival, my oldest daughters birthday. But it’s just the prettiest month. So it’s time to Spring clean and work on those summer projects. Knitting is so easy for Autumn and Winter but when the warmer temps roll around we all start looking for stuff to do, because all to soon it will be 100 degrees and we will be hiding in the A/C with our knitting needles and crochet hooks.

This is my very first post and I should tell you who I am. I’m a mother of 3, grandmother of 2, and a cancer survivor. I have been crocheting since I was 9 years old and knitting since I was 14 yrs. old. Now these hobbies had to take a backseat while I worked and raised my family. But with my very own grand babies (Snugglebuggs) I am inspired to knit and crochet for all my family and their little Snugglebuggs too.

I recently have been on a baby binge with all the baby showers in my family. Seems like all my nieces are having girls so I am in the pink with knit baby blankets and crocheted sweaters. Which is a nice transition from winter hats.

However my real love of late are lace shawls. I love the challenge. I hope ya’ll will bare with me while I get this blog under way.

  1. I too had a long break from knitting and crochet – family life and work outside the home leave little time for anything else.
I love the blankets in your photo! Am looking forward to seeing more of your projects. I’ve recently taken to lace shawl knitting too – it’s quite addictive!
Good luck with your blog and thanks for following me on Old Yarns and Woolly Thoughts.

    • Sorry it took a while to get back to you the holidays have been hectic here. Thank you for the comment I love making blankets and shawls better than the smaller projects, I find them more relaxing. The lace work is fun and I love the new challenges but I tend to be a perfectionist which can be crazy if i mess up on a shawl. Bare with me while I get my site going and I look forward to reading your blog as well.
