Learn Something New!

I have been so busy all summer learning as much as I can about blogging.  Autumn is just a week away and I am trying to get on a schedule. I have been knitting & crocheting as always. However, most recently I have decided to move forward by improving my blog site.

It has been quite a process and I feel my biggest problem is I am never quite satisfied. I keep playing with all the features until I make a mess that I can’t seem to fix. Can you relate? It’s like this when I started knitting & even crocheting if I messed up I would rip it all out. Sometimes, I could make a whole blanket and take it out. Type A personality I guess, but with age I have mellowed. I have finally realized it’s ok to be me and most people won’t notice the errors that drive me crazy.

So one motto I live by “Never stop Learning”. Whether it’s knitting, crocheting, or blogging we should always be learning something new. Each of us has our strengths and weakness. Stretch out your legs, warm up and start learning. Life is about having a purpose. I thought for a time cancer had stolen that from me, but God saved me for a purpose. So here I am starting over and developing this knitting & crocheting blog.

If you don’t know much about me, I’d like to share just a little about why this blog is so important to me. In 2006 I was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma. The tumor was in my throat and I came within a day of suffocating from the blockage. When I woke in the hospital I had already undergone my first round of chemo. So my memory has been fuzzy ever since. My doctors were not expecting me to live and truly I wasn’t sure I would myself. It was a long 6 months of chemo, radiation, hair loss, and illness that I do not wish to ever relive. That was 9 years ago.

The lesson I learned from cancer is we are always changing and growing. I am not the person I once was and though I’ve stumble along the way I continue to grow and learn. Knitting and crocheting saved my sanity when I physically could do nothing else. We all have a story and I’d love to hear yours.

So I hope no matter what you are going through, you know, you have a purpose. Hopefully, this blog will be a source for learning, growing, laughing, and sharing. I would love very much any constructive criticism so please post a comment or contact me at snugglebuggknits@gmail.com. God Bless each of you and good luck in your journey.

  1. I don’t know why I started crocheting. I was constantly thinking of suicide. I felt sad alone and incapable of raising my child. Then I stumbled upon a hook and navy blue yarn. Never looked back. Am a better person and my daughter is better. No emergency trips to the hospital and she has finally agreed that school is good. No tantrums. She’s happy. I don’t know what you went through. But you sharing helps me understand your struggle. And I agree…never stop learning.
