Here Comes Peter Cottontail…

wpid-wp-1428256780806.jpeg¬†Every things coming up cute and fuzzy with Easter already on top of us a few projects from Easter’s past make me look forward to making some adorable new bunny projects for next year.

I hope everyone had a beautiful Easter and are stuffed with eggs and candy. My featured pic is of my grandson Caison on his first Easter and the little bunny is my first attempt at amigurumi. If you are not familiar amigurumi is the Asian art of making crocheted or knit animals and other objects. The parts are easy enough to crochet however it takes some practice and studying techniques to get the art of putting it all together perfected. I am not sure I have the patience but am very temped to continue learning and trying. There are some great sites and experts if you find these guys as cute as I do take a shot at it. I myself tend to like larger projects. But oh those cute little faces make it so worth it.

April Baby Showers

cropped-1513287_262316927259325_452633579_n.jpgSo it’ April 3rd, and yesterday was my birthday. I love this month, Easter, my birthday, Azalea Festival, my oldest daughters birthday. But it’s just the prettiest month. So it’s time to Spring clean and work on those summer projects. Knitting is so easy for Autumn and Winter but when the warmer temps roll around we all start looking for stuff to do, because all to soon it will be 100 degrees and we will be hiding in the A/C with our knitting needles and crochet hooks.

This is my very first post and I should tell you who I am. I’m a mother of 3, grandmother of 2, and a cancer survivor. I have been crocheting since I was 9 years old and knitting since I was 14 yrs. old. Now these hobbies had to take a backseat while I worked and raised my family. But with my very own grand babies (Snugglebuggs) I am inspired to knit and crochet for all my family and their little Snugglebuggs too.

I recently have been on a baby binge with all the baby showers in my family. Seems like all my nieces are having girls so I am in the pink with knit baby blankets and crocheted sweaters. Which is a nice transition from winter hats.

However my real love of late are lace shawls. I love the challenge. I hope ya’ll will bare¬†with me while I get this blog under way.
